Perlis Awards 2006
Perlis is the smallest state in Malaysia, with land area of 821 sqkm compared the the biggest state of Sarawak with the area of 124,450 sqkm. However, the award of honors ignore the size. In 2006, in conjunction with the 63rd birthday of the Raja Perlis, 518 received awards of various kinds.
The awards was led by two federal ministers, the second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, 59, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohd Effendi Norwawi, 58, will be conferred the Seri Paduka Mahkota Perlis (SPMP) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri.
