A prominent lawyer was bestowed the title "Pahlima Setia Mahkota", PSM that carries the title Tan Sri. This was give in conjunction with the kings birthday on Jun 2013.
In the same occasion, a few others were given similar awards. They were Abdullah Mat Zin, Religion Special Advisor to Najib, Othman Abd Razak, advisor to Najib.

- 23 July 2013 - The AG, Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail said, a lawyer from a private sector, Muhammad Shafee was appointed to be the lead prosecutor in the appeal against Anwar’s acquittal. This is because he had vast experience in handling criminal cases.
